He says it is absolutely worth the price, so we are happy to include this exclusivity in our complementary offers (75 cl bottle). This wine is extremely lively due to the soils of the region rich in minerals. On the palate the wine is balanced and deep with silky tannins, highly harmonious and sports a beautiful balance between fruit, tannin and freshness. Château Pontet-Canet is one of the few organic, even biodynamic wineries in the Bordelais. The vineyards extend over 81 hectares around the château and are between 40 and 45 years old. The vines grow in mostly quaternary gravel soils. This wine matured in French wine barrels (of which 60% are new) for about 16 months before being bottled. The term Single Grain refers to whiskies which (similar to Single Malts) come from a single distillery. For the production of Single Grain, different types of grain may be used, which are usually distilled in column stills. Both are different from Single Malt, as only malted barley may be used for the latter and must be distilled in pot stills. Compared to single malts, single grain is still a small niche in whisky, but a boom is emerging. There are currently few distilleries that rely entirely on this type of whisky. Nevertheless, Single Grain Whisky has an international spread and is also distilled by renowned distilleries in Scotland, Ireland, Japan, and the United States. Armagnac 1958||| CHF 509 |||Our webmaster entered the cellar of his trusted wine merchant, Toni at the Weinhaus Zollikofen, to bring this trouvaille to the light of day on behalf of Blumen Maarsen in order to obtain new supplements for exclusive customer orders, and with the quiet hope that it will never be ordered in the first place, in order to taste this noble spirit himself in 2028. This armagnac with guarantee of authenticity comes in a sealed wooden box. From Toni's notebook: Baron Gaston Legrand's armagnacs are aged to perfection in typical Gascon and Limousin "black oak" barrels. Unlike cognac, armagnac is distilled only once in a continuous distillation process. This armagnac is produced in a special distillation process using wines of just one vintage. A pleasure of a very special kind: The amber-coloured distillate reveals itself with a lush and concentrated nose of prunes, warm bread, gingerbread and candied fruit. On the palate it is mild and balanced with woody impressions and some vanilla. It ends with notes of macerated stone fruit. 0.7 L, 40 % VOL.
